A common curse or swear in Calbion is “by the four moons” which tells you briefly about Calbion’s nearest astrological and astronomical objects. The four moons of Calbion were once worshipped long before the current deities appeared. Even today the four moons continue to possess a highly symbolic significance.
Azure, the blue moon, is said to represent Law and Water.
Alizarin, the red moon, is said to represent Chaos and Fire.
Palatinate, the pale moon, is said to represent Good and Air.
Sangria, the burnt moon, is said to represent Evil and Earth.
In addition to affecting the tides, these moons are said to influence the power of certain magic both arcane and divine, and even affect the behaviour of people on the surface.
There are also believed to be five other planets in the solar system, one corresponding with each of the known elemental energies. Alas, exact information about the planets is the purview of only the most devoted astronomers, and as they only affect the most complex of elemental arcane magic, I will not go into depth here.
Sulpaios, the bubbling sphere of acid. When this planet is closely aligned with Calbion, acid elemental power increases.
Arctaios, the frozen sphere of ice. When this planet is closely aligned with Calbion, cold elemental power increases.
Teslaios, the stormy sphere of lightning. When this planet is closely aligned with Calbion, electricity elemental power increases.
Vulcaios, the burning sphere of fire. When this planet is closely aligned with Calbion, fire elemental power increases.
Zephaios, the swirling sphere of wind. When this planet is closely aligned with Calbion, sonic elemental power increases.
