Though legends say that angels once roamed freely upon the material world, this has not been seen in many centuries, and thus the effects of angelic blood should have diminished. However, there have been several cases in recent centuries of angelic beings entering the material plane through summonings.
Perhaps the most famous legend concerning this regards the mother of St. Aylia. The mother of St. Aylia is believed to have been an angel who was summoned by a cult of Zhakhustran darkness worshippers who sought a worthy sacrifice to their dark lords. However, before the ritual could be completed, the cult ceremony was interrupted by a band of adventurers led by the famous Duke Lancus Etherington, a renowned risk taker and playboy, who was originally interested in the treasure that the cult had.
Upon discovering the bound angel about to be killed, Lancus had his men massacre the whole cult. Rather than free the angel to return to her proper plane however, Lancus who had dabbled in the occult himself, decided to bind the angel to himself and brought her back with him to his castle in Ramon, Habstrom. In some delusion of power, he made her his wife and used her powers to bring the church to his side politically.
This arrangement did not last. The angel had a child, who was named Aylia, and came to be in the care of the Church of Lavender. During the First Lavender crusade, Lancus’ castle was stormed by Athaerian troops who killed the Duke and supposedly freed the angel. An unconfirmed rumour suggests that the angel had more than one child.
The library at Thaliogard has several other cases of supposed angelic heritage, but few are confirmed.
